The System Support Specialist is responsible for the daily support for the Patient Accounts Department while maintaining strong relations and coordinating efforts with the IS/IT Team. They provide system support through observing performance and/or management of supported applications/software and/or other system supported functions. They are responsible for completing and/or assisting in the daily routine maintenance of the system, and coordination with IS/IT, vendors, management and others as needed in an effort to use the full potential of the system to meet the needs of the end users.

Essential Functions/Duties of Patient Accounts Billing Representative

  • Software support and administration as needed
  • Desktop support
  • Handle billing software set up and modifications needed daily, as well as other administrative duties with the billing software program
  • Work on existing issues concerning the billing software and work closely with the billing software affiliates to assure proper functionality and monitor upgrades

  • Work closely with Systems and Billing Managers on solving billing issues through data analysis
  • Running reports as needed
  • On-call work
  • Other duties as assigned

 Preferred Experience of Patient Accounts Billing Representative

     Education / Experience:

  • Degree in IS/IT related field and/or equivalent qualifying years of experience in an IS/IT role or with medical billing software

  • Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access

  • Sweet/Tri-Tech experience preferred


    Experience in computer aided medical billing software preferred


    Knowledgeable in Healthcare Compliance Regulations (HIPAA, etc.) preferred
